New Mexico Historic Preservation Division

The mission of the Historic Preservation Division (HPD) is to protect, preserve, and interpret the unique character of New Mexico. HPD duties and services include compliance review, archaeological permitting, nomination of properties to the State and National Registers, reviewing state tax credit applications for the rehabilitation of cultural properties, administering grant funding and various outreach initiatives.
