HPD Special Initiatives
The Historic Preservation Division is currently working with three contractors to complete nomination documents for listing the New Mexico section of El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro in the World Heritage List.
The work will include project management, research and literature review, identification of key stakeholders, property identification and coordination with property owners, addition of the site to the U.S. Tentative List, completion of the upstream process, and preparation of Nomination Dossier.
The New Mexico State Legislature appropriated $250,000 to the Department of Cultural Affairs for this effort.
